The Shift to Super Retina OLED & The Notch

The iPhone X was the first iPhone to feature a stunning 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED display ($2436 \times 1125$ pixels). Dropping the thick top and bottom bezels, it maximized screen real estate in a compact chassis. The Introduction of Face ID

With the absolute removal of the physical Home button, Apple confidently replaced Touch ID with Face ID. Revolutionary Gesture-Based Navigation

The absence of a Home button required an entirely new way to interact with iOS. The iPhone X pioneered the fluid gesture navigation system used on premium devices today—swiping up from the bottom edge to return home, swiping up and holding to view the app switcher, and swiping diagonally down from the top right to access the Control Center.

Dual 12MP Cameras with Dual OIS

Mobile photography received a highly capable structural upgrade. The rear module shifted to a vertical dual array featuring a 12MP wide-angle lens ($f/1.8$) and a 12MP telephoto lens ($f/2.4$). Under the hood, the device was driven by the powerful 6-core A11 Bionic chip, which featured Apple's first dedicated Neural Engine for processing machine learning tasks like Face ID and real-time Animoji mapping. Built with a premium glass back panel, it also integrated Qi wireless charging, fast wired charging capabilities, and an IP67 water resistance rating.
